ORARI Daerah Bali welcomes Dr. Roger Young and Peter Simpson from the British Embassy, Jakarta for a visit on Dec 9, 2011. The meeting is held at the ORARI Daerah Bali office to talk about emergency preparedness in Bali along with other issues. This visit is part of an assesment project carried out by the UK government that receives the support and guidance of the head of National Counter Terrorism Agency, Insp. Gen. (Police Ret.) Ansyaad Mbai. This visit, after a similar one in 2007, is intended to provide an opportunity to informally share UK experience on crisis management with local response agencies and critical infrastructure. We are sorry to announce that guest operator permit will no longer be issued to amateur operators from ASEAN countries: Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philiphines, Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Vietnam. This decision was taken by the National ORARI organization after numerous complaints that those countries refuse to issue amateur radio temporary/guest operator permits to Indonesian operators. Amateur operators from those countries are urged to contact their telecommunication authority to initiate a formal reciprocal licensing agreement with the government of Indonesia. This document is provided as a clarification of the original document issued by ORARI Bali which can be found here. This permit allows a foreign amateur license holder to operate in Bali.
